 What's New for the 2025 Hyundai Sonata?

The Hyundai Sonata is a midsize sedan that has been impressing drivers for several decades with its modern aesthetics, smooth ride, and excellent combination of features. In 2025, a few updates elevate the Sonata's appeal. For example, the base Sonata SE trim was not offered in 2024, and it returns in 2025 for the benefit of budget-minded auto shoppers. The trim levels for 2025 are the SE, SEL, N Line, SEL Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid.

The 2025 Sonata's style holds steady for 2025. The look is captivating with a swooping hood and crisp accent lines that roll to a continuous LED headlight. This linear element runs from side to side above commanding air inlets and a large grille covering most of the front end. From the side view, upper and lower pinstripe accents fade fr from the front fender to the lifted tail.

Most of the Sonata's gas trim levels come with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder system that generates 191 horsepower. The Sonata N-Line is equipped with a turbo 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that puts out 290 horsepower. While the entry-level engine is offered with front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive, only front-wheel drive is available with the N-Line trim. Both engines are tied to an eight-speed auto transmission. The hybrid trim levels are outfitted with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder hybrid engine that generates 190 total horsepower. This engine has front-wheel drive and a six-speed auto transmission.

In addition to the trim level change, the N-Line trim now includes climate control vents in the rear seating area. Otherwise, the features offered in the Sonata are unchanged. Depending on the trim level that you select, your 2025 Sonata may come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, forward collision mitigation, a sunroof, a navigation system, highway driving assistance, Bluelink connected services, wireless device charging, rear auto braking, blind-spot intervention, voice recognition, a Bose sound system with 12 speakers, a Digital Key, a head-up display and many additional features.
