2018 Hyundai Kona: Driver Assist and Safety

When you purchase a Hyundai, you know you're getting a solid vehicle with the best in modern features and technologies. That's because Hyundai has continually been innovating its vehicles, increasing its technologies on all fronts, such as luxury, fuel economy and, arguably most important of all, the best in driver assist and safety features. The 2018 Hyundai Kona is a superb example of this dedication to the latest in vehicle safety and security. Just take a look at the following key driver assist and safety technologies in the 2018 Hyundai Kona to see what we mean:

The 2018 Hyundai Kona near Cicero: A Look at Its Driver Assist & Safety Technologies

Blind-Spot Collision Warning. This active safety warning utilizes a system of radars to monitor the back sides of the Kona. When it detects a vehicle moving into your blind spot, the system will provide a visual and/or audible notification on the dashboard to prevent drivers from shifting into the other vehicle. If the driver tries to use the turn signal when the system detects another vehicle in the blind-spot, then it'll provide an additional warning.

Rear Cross-Traffic Warning.  The 2018 Kona has another system of radars available at the rear of the vehicle. This system turns on whenever the vehicle is going in reverse and is designed to alert drivers, via a visual, audible, or haptic notification, when it detects a possible collision with another object or vehicle.

Lane Keeping Assist.  Do you frequently drive long distances? Maybe your work takes you far out of the Cicero area and you're looking for something to make those drives easier. Well, with the 2018 Hyundai Kona one great asset you'll have at your fingers is the Lane Keeping Assist. Lane Keeping Assist, when activated, uses a smart radar system to monitor the 2018 Kona's position within the painted lines of a roadway. The system will then first provide warnings and then apply slight corrective steering assistance to ensure that the Kona stays safely in its own lane.

Smart Cruise Control.  Enter the next generation of cruise control. As with standard cruise control, Smart Cruise Control keeps the vehicle at a set speed. What's different is that this system uses a system of forward-oriented radars to measure the distance relative to the vehicle ahead of you. Should this system detect it's moving too quickly towards a forward-oriented vehicle, it will automatically adjust the set cruise speed so that the vehicle keeps a safe and secure distance.

Heads-up Display.  This exciting technology isn't exactly a driver assist safety tech, but it is an outstanding feature that works to make your diving experience safer and easier. This system, available on the 2018 Hyundai Kona as well as several other 2018 new Hyundai models, shows drivers key data via a projected display positioned above the vehicle's instrument cluster on the inside of the window. This display will show the vehicle's speed, navigation, and key driver assists safety information in an easy-to-view location so that you don't have to take your eyes off the road.
