Across the trim lineup, the Hyundai Sonata is available with three powertrains, and these powertrains are unchanged from the 2024 model year. In 2024, the base SE trim level was eliminated from the options, but it returns in 2025. The base engine is a 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine with front-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission. The N-Line's powertrain has a 290-horsepower, turbo 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. In addition, the Sonata's hybrid trim levels are available with a 190-horsepower, hybrid 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. This engine pairs with a six-speed auto transmission.

Appearance

The 2024 and 2025 Sonata sedans are identically styled. From the front view, the Sonata has a contemporary look with a wraparound grille that drops to the bottom of the vehicle. The large air vents flanking the grille conform to the grille's angled shape. Above the grille, a thin LED bar wraps from side to side. The swooping hood is confidently defined, and sharp definition also streams across the upper and lower side panels. A linear air vent sits close the front fender, and the rear end is subtly angled.

Features

In 2024, the SEL trim was available with the optional Convenience package. In 2025, the SEL Convenience is a new, standalone trim level. In addition to this change, the N-Line trim for 2025 now comes with air vents for the rear passengers. The many features available in both model years include Highway Driving Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a head-up display, rear parking sensors, voice recognition, a sunroof, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, a navigation system, a Bose audio system with 12 speakers, a wireless device charger and additional features.
