2026 Hyundai Tucson vs 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe

Serving Chicago, IL

The impressive Hyundai Tucson is a compact crossover that sits just below the midsize Santa Fe in the 2026 lineup. While the Tucson is mostly unchanged this year, the Santa Fe introduces a new transmission, a new trim level, and changes to the available features. Before deciding which of these crossover SUVs is the best option for you, take a closer look at what they offer.

Performance

The 2026 Tucson is available with a gas engine or a hybrid engine. The gas engine is a four-cylinder, 187-horsepower unit, and it comes with an eight-speed auto transmission. Both front-wheel and all-wheel drive are available. The hybrid system features a turbocharged gas engine and delivers 231 combined horsepower. It pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and is only offered with all-wheel drive.

The 2026 Santa Fe is also offered with gas and hybrid systems. The gas-powered, turbo 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generates 277 horsepower and comes with an eight-speed auto transmission. The hybrid trim levels have a turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that generates a combined 231 horsepower and comes with a six-speed transmission. For all trim levels, all-wheel and front-wheel drive are available.

Appearance

The 2026 Hyundai Tucson is a head-turner with its chiseled sides and angled definition. The nose is perfectly rounded while the roof tapers athletically toward the rear. The lower body and wheel wells are lined with dark molding. On the nose, the staggered mesh design on the grille integrates with the segmented LED headlights.

The 2026 Santa Fe, on the other hand, is a larger vehicle with a tall, squared-off profile. The flared fenders have crisp corners with a crease that runs horizontally below the belt line. The front end is styled with a horizontal LED bar connecting the rectangle-themed LED headlamps.

Features

The Tucson is outfitted with exciting features across all trim levels. Some of the available features are a surround-view camera, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, parking collision avoidance, a blind-spot camera, a Bose sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch display screen for the infotainment system, a wireless charging pad, and other features.

The Santa Fe has many of these features, including a Bose audio system, automated parking assistance, a fully digital instrument panel, side window sunshades, and several additional features.
